Merry F***in’ Christmas Balls!

I’m getting RUIN for Christmas, and I didn’t even have to sit on a old man’s lap and ask for it.  It’s like Santa could read my shower thoughts.  Bless that creepin’ sonofabitch!  Matter of fact, we ALL get RUIN for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, Whateverthefuck.  Ho, ho, ho-ly pole dancing elves on candy canes, Batman!

This Saturday, December 23rd, RUIN will be at Live at 212 in Westbrook to melt the ice off the joint.  To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their first album “Hands of Enmity”, our hometown heroes will be playing the album in its entirety.  Merry Christmas to me!  This will be RUIN’s first time playing at Live at 212, and I have been waiting so long for this to happen.  If we’re lucky, we’ll have Jake Washburn running sound.  That would be the icing on the fruitcake.

Rich Carey of RUIN, melting faces at Geno’s, 11/24/17.

RUIN recently won the Portland Phoenix award for Best Metal Band, and after seeing them for the very first time on Black Friday at Geno’s, I can tell you that it was much deserved.  They played a lot of songs from their second album, Rite of Passage.  There’s nothing quite like seeing a kickass band and singing/screaming the words along with them.  I fangirled HARD that night.  After talking with Rich, Craig, Kevin and Todd, I made it very clear that I wanted to hear my favorite song, “Along the Way”.  They saved it for last, and I lost my fucking mind.  It was one of the best nights of my life.  I live for this shit.  I even snagged a signed set list and a guitar pick.  Thanks, dudes!

Craig Carey of RUIN, cheesin’.

Joining in the fun will be NH/Boston thrash metal band EPICENTER.  I’ve seen these guys only once, but I can certainly vouch for the awesomeness.  They won first place in the Battle for New England Metal and Hardcore Fest in 2016 and got to play the main stage.  In other words, they don’t fuck around.  They put on one helluva show, but you’ll just have to come see for yourself, now won’t you?  They’ll be there celebrating their new release “Subversion”.  So like, come see them.

When your guitar strap breaks, you get support from your other guitarist. Awww. Kevin Whitman takes a knee next to strapless Rich Carey.

Portland’s prog metal band, Capture The Sun will also be there spreading happiness and joy to us all, as well as Portland death metal band Stillborn Condition.  Starting a show with Stillborn Condition?  Prepare for shit to get nuts.  Chestnuts.  Because Christmas.

Todd Bidwell of RUIN. He slappa da bass.

The best part?  Tickets are only $8 in advance and $10 at the door.  You can get your advance tix at  Oh, and ya gotta be 21+.  Them’s the rules.  The show starts at 8pm, so be sure to get there early and stay late.  I kinda want to see yo’ face.

So, get ready bitches.  Santa waits for no one.
